Q: What does Hentai Overkill stand for?
A: Hentai overkill stands for exactly that. We overkill every aspect of Hentai, bringing you so much Hentai content, YOU WON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH IT! :)
Q: How old should I be on HOK?
A: If you're asking, get off this site >_> I swear, we'll find you, and tell your parents on you! (We mean it! ;D)
Q: How much does it cost for access to the site?
A: Cost...? HOK's was BUILT on the foundation that we would never charge, limit, nor impede users from the massive content within. In simple terms, there is no cost, ever :P
Q: But... will you ever charge money?
A: Didn't I just say you will never be charged? ever?
Q: I think HOK Rocks! But I have no money, or skills to help the site with... what can I do?
A: Everyone has skills :) Even if you cannot do a Staff Position, submitting new images onto the forums, and such things help, as does clicking on any Advertisement's you find interesting to your self (this does help!)
Q: Does clicking on Advertisement's really help?
A: Very much so. One click can equate to over 2500 Views of that very same advertisement! (or that is to say ONE click equals YOU viewing that advertisement 2500 times x.x). We are confident that NO AD displayed on our Site will EVER contain malicious content when clicked upon, ever. We are very strict about these matters, so it is 100% safe :)
Q: Movies? Where?! GIMMEEE!!
A: Hover over the 'Galleries' menu on the main part of the Site. Move down, and you will see 'MOVIE GALLERY'. Click it. This takes you to the forums, in which you need to be registered to view the Movies, which is 100% free and no requirements. (You want 400+ movies? DO IT YOU LAZY BASTARDS! :P).
Q: Wait, whaaa?! You said no gimmicks!
A: Unfortunately, leaving it open without needing to register allows bots to spam the movie threads with hits, causing issues with the server and our Bandwidth. Besides, why don't you go socialize a little bit since you registered? We don't bite! Well, much... >=D
Q: How do I Register?
A: Look for the Word “Register” near the top of the Forums. Click it, follow the instructions given. The 'question' asking what HOK stands for means: Hentaioverkill .
Q: Cool! I can see the movies now, but... Why Megaupload?
A: Hosting movies on our servers are very illegal, as we do NOT own permission nor rights to distribute said content, thus we could be in veryyyy big trouble. Instead, we simply find links created by others, and add them to the appropriate section(s).
Q: Ok... But why not Rapidshare, or other Places too?
A: Uploading to multiple places is rather.. Time consuming. We would prefer to upload it to a single place, then have to spend 2-3x the effort PER MOVIE, so a few People are 'happy'. If you don't like Megaupload, well... Upload the movie onto your Favorite download site, and give us the link!
NOTE: Some movies may have rapidshare links, or other links, but we are NOT going out of our way to post these!
Q: Wait! There's a thread with descriptions and posts, but no links! What the hell?!
A: Those are in process of being added. They should be up shortly, and we decided to create the 'previews' early, so you can see what to expect very soon :)
Q: Why don't you have 'that' movie?!
A: More then likely because we just haven't gotten to adding it, or we haven't found it yet. If you happen to have movies we don't, we would be glad to add it to our collection. If not, feel free to make a Request on the movie request board.
Q: How do I run (.rmvb, .oga, .wmv, .avi, etc etc etc) file types?
A: Read this post fully!
Q: But.. I don't like (said File Type)! I want you to change it, NOW!
A: Well, find us the type you like, upload it to megauploads, rapidshare, or such places, and pass us the link. We'll gladly add it to the section for others to use. :) If not, well... sorry. You're not paying us to work for you. :P
Q: What do I do if I find a broken movie link?
A: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, report these! Use the contact us link at the BOTTOM of the Forums, the Shoutbox, or even E-mail us which series, and which episode(s) is broken and we will fix it. If you don't, we won't know it's broken!
Q: Is the movie section always going to be in the forums?
A: Unlikely. We hope to have a custom Script created JUST for the Movies, including streaming (Don't hold me to that!), in the near future.
Q: How often do you update the Movie Section??
A: That varies a lot, depending on when our movie collectors hand in new movies to add, to when I have time to upload/add them/create their sections, and all that fun stuff. I do it as quick as I can, but well... Life sucks. :P
Q: I want to help HOK! What Staff Positions are possible for the movies section?
A: There are currently three Positions: Movie Collector, Movie Reviewer, and Movie Admin. For descriptions/open Positions, please check the Job Board (UPDATE THIS TO NEW PAGE).
Q: Will you ever host the Movies on HOK servers? Maybe if we pay?
A: There two problems. #1 HOK is completely free, and always will be. I have no intent to break this idea, even if it means not being able to provide services like streaming movies from our server, etc etc. #2 We need to be VERY wary of Copyrights, Licensing, and other matters. Lawyers are evil demons, very much like Vultures waiting to dive out of the sky, and tear your fucking eyes out. :P
Q: You've missed a Question for the Movie FAQ!
A: Then feel free to throw us a note on what we missed, and we'll get to adding it :) There's a Form at the end of the FAQ in the 'Support' section.
Q: How do I register on the galleries?
A: You must Register for each Gallery separately, for now. To do so, look for the 'login/register/home' Button, mouse over it, then click 'Register'. Follow the Prompt, confirm your account via E-Mail, and boom! You're done.
Q: What benefits does that give me??
A: Various little things. Commenting (when enabled), sending pics to others via E-Mail, Keyboard Navigation from picture to picture; the List goes on, and on.
Q: Keyboard navigation? What's that?
A: While you are browsing the Galleries – WHEN LOGGED IN – using the left, right, and up arrow keys will move you around the gallery.
left and right are used when viewing pictures. Hit left, to go back one pic, and right, to go ahead one.
Up will take you from the pictures, to the thumbnails page, then the albums page, then the categories Page.
Q: What do I do if I find a bad picture? (Statue of a character, real life, 'extreme', and such things).
A: Immediately use the 'Report' button, above the picture, beside the arrows. We appreciate help in removing the few bad pictures that have slipped by us!
Q: Can I submit pictures that the gallery doesn't have?
A: Not directly. We do have plans to create a gallery COMPLETELY ran by users in the Future, but no ETA on that yet.
If you truly still want to see them added to the gallery, you can post them in a .rar on the forums, or even E-mail to me at Sabbykat11 at gmail dot com.
Q: Can I make my own album(s)??
A: Yep. Register, and you'll have a section dedicated JUST to you, under the user pic category. However, please note there are restrictions on max size, number of pics, etc to limit abuse :) (Admins hold the right to remove any user picture, at any time based on their own decision).
Q: Cool! But why can't I have my own category?
A: Hahaha. Because if every user who visited the Gallery had one (which passes 20000), it would make the Gallery well... Impossible to view or use. ;)
Q: You don't have a Series I want!
A: Then request it!
Q: Why don't you have Incest, or other popular general types?!
A: Because we simply haven't gotten to it. Rather, we are planning to make sites dedicated ENTIRELY to major 'general' types, Incest, Bonadage, Yaoi, Yuri, maybe even Lolicon... more you ask, the more likely we'll do them ;)
Q: Why won't the search feature work?!
A: We are still in need to 'tag' the images of all the Galleries. A Tag is simply a handful of words that describe the picture. Now, to do it as it stands, would take us... About 6-7 Years to complete unless we overhaul the system to do this... It's planned, keep your cock in your pants (or panties). :P
Q: Why are comments not working?
A: Spam. Spam Bots galore. We are currently implementing a fix to this, but we are waiting until it's 100% safe, to avoid worrying about cleaning up spam everywhere once again :p
Q: Can I tag images then?
A: We have actually debated on allowing our users to tag the Images, and simply moderate them, but this functionality for the Gallery isn't possible currently :((
Q: I want to submit a Story, how do I do that?
A: First, you need to register in the Story Section. Then once you have done that, you go to 'Account', and click 'add new Story' then follow the Form! Whalla, done :)
Q: I want to submit a Story NOT written by me, how?
A: You are allowed to submit said Stories if you have the Authors permission, making sure to state you are NOT the Author when posting it, and make sure to give all credit to the true Author of the Story. Failure to do so will have the Story removed, and repeat offenders, banned.
Q: I want a story from an Author I know to be on HOK!
A: Then ask them to submit it, or even ask for Permission so that YOU can upload it in their place. Do NOT upload it if they say no! ;)
Q: I can't find a Rating that Suits my Story!
A: Then use the best you can. It's fairly simple to gauge, like... If your story has extreme violence, that's 18+. If it has Sex, it's XXX. If it has both, choose both. :P
Q: This Author SUCKS, I want to leave negative Feedback, can I?
A: Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but flaming is NOT feedback. Tell them WHAT you disliked, why you disliked it, and what they could have done differently to appease your wants and desires. This gives them constructive feedback, which they very well might use in future Chapters to not do it again, thus solving your complaint(s)! :)
Q: What? I want to tell them they suck shit, and fail at life damnit!
A: Then leave HOK. We are a Community of friends and Hentai Enthusiasts who gather to share a similar interest. We are NOT here to insult, flame, or degrade each other, but help each other in what we like doing, whether that is fapping, writing erotic fiction, drawing erotic images, or whatever! Such childish behavior will have you banned >=(
Q: Why is no one reviewing my Stories? :((
A: Most of the time readers are to lazy to bother. It's a pain in the ass, but try to drop a note at the end of your Stories asking for them to review it if they really liked it! :)
Q: Why should I care about Advertisements?
A: Because without them, HOK would not exist! Hok is free for everything, but we RELY on these sparse Adverts to give us just enough money to get by, and keep HOK up and roaring. Without them, we'll crash and burn.
Q: But... they have viruses! Malware! They are flashy, slow, and annoying too!
A: No, no, and no. We make SURE that all our advertisement partners are reputable. No malware. No viruses. And ESPECIALLY no fucking annoying, flashing Ad's! God I hate those >.<
Q: Are you sure?
A: I wouldn't put them on HOK if I wasn't. I view and hit these ads my self at times, simply to test this out. Our 'partners' we work with to provide these advertisements, also ensure high quality advertisers are the ONLY ones accept. None of those shadowy scum bags trying to take over your computer!
See, viewing the ad's, does not mean you're actually look at them. Your attention is likely else where. This means advertisers, who provided these ads will pay us ALOT less for simple views. Clicking on an Advertisement you think would be interesting to look at, is over 5000x more effective! That's to say, 1 click on an ad, equates to over 5000 of your views.
Q: So... I should click on all the ads I see??
A: NO! Never do this! You may think you're helping, but you're not. Your saturating the ads with false clicks, and angering the advertisers. ONLY click on something YOU have a slight interest in. And don't click 30-40 ad's. One or two a day is bloody awesome, and takes like 10 seconds. :)
Q: Ok. So, I should keep the ads unblocked, reporting any bad ones when I see them. Then, I should click on any that catch my eye?
A: Yep! There's no obligation to 'buy' anything or such, obviously. Simply click, view, let load, close. Done. Takes 10 seconds, and it helps HOK greatly! The more of you that do this, means the more money HOK will receive. The more money HOK receives in profit, means we can pay for really cool projects that we have planned, including new features for the galleries, and other things!
Q: But, what if I find a bad Advertisement that is making noise, or flashing, or when clicked, has a virus(Even if there is basically no chance)?
A: REPORT IT! Take a screen shot of it, write down the address it displays when hovering your mouse over it, and the company name it provides. They will be banned from our site for good. >=(
You can report via the report feature on the Gallery, on the Forums in the proper section, or even e-mail me directly with the information.
Q: I can't find any Advertisements, HELP!!!
A: Breath! Calm... deep... breaths. ;D
There are MANY possible reasons for this. Now, read the list below, and see if you have Any of these issues.
– No Script for Firefox – An anti virus such as Norton's which blocks advertisements and/or monitors your internet surfing. – Adblock Plus for Firefox – (Probably more, but I need to find a list :P)
If you answer YES to having ANY of the above, then there is your problem. :)
So, how do we fix these so it allows ONLY HOK's ad's to display? Well, here's an individual run through for each...

How to disable Noscript JUST for HOK
Thankfully, this is rather simple and easy. You'll NORMALLY see a bar at the bottom of your screen, saying scripts: 5/10 blocked, yada yada. Click the 'OPTIONS' button on the right, and you'll see a list with 'FORBID/ALLOW HTTP://WWW.HENTAIOVERKILL.NET/' and others. Simply go through, and allow every check box. It may take a few passes to make sure they all are viewable!
DO NOT DISABLE NOSCRIPT COMPLETELY! The method above will allow HOK, and only HOK. Nothing else.

Avg is a good, free anti-virus (albit resource heavy), though I have heard it's becoming less popular lately due to barely being able to catch anything, as well its 'internet security' package blocks EVERYTHING, and is a pain in the ass.

This has a 30 day trial, and costs 50$ for 3 computers for a year (so about 16-17$ a computer), and is imo, THE BEST anti-virus out there. It catches EVERYTHING, takes minimal resources, very configurable, and does not 'block' good programs like Nortons!

Q: The hand held Section doesn't work! What do I do?!
A: Please, screen shot the issue, and head to HERE, and make a new thread about the issue.
Post in FULL DETAIL, and give every little clue you can! The more information we have, the easier, and likely quicker, we can get to fixing this bug and/or compatibility issue. :)
